# Custom Chatbot

> Enable, customize, and train an AI chatbot on your website content and guidelines.

Add an AI-powered chatbot to your website to answer visitor questions.

## Prerequisites

* **Paid plan** with chatbot access (or separate chatbot subscription)
* Available only on specific tiers

## How to access

Navigate to **Dashboard → \[Your Website] → Custom Chatbot**.

## Enable the chatbot

1. Click **Enable Chatbot** (top right).
2. Wait \~30–60 seconds while the chatbot trains on your website content.
3. The chatbot becomes available to visitors.

## Tabs overview

### Tab: Edit

Configure how the chatbot looks and behaves.

#### Chatbot settings

* **Popup title**: label shown on the chatbot launcher (for example: “Chat with us”).
* **Chat window title**: title at the top of the chat window.
* **Description**: welcome text (for example: “How can I help you?”).
* **Suggested questions**: add up to 5 quick-question buttons.

#### Logo / avatar

Upload a small image used in the chatbot UI.

Recommended:

* 100×100 px
* PNG/JPG/SVG
* Under 1MB

#### Guidelines and training

Use **Guidelines** to teach the chatbot information and tone that may not be obvious from the website.

Example guidelines:

Business hours: Mon–Fri, 9am–5pm EST.
Starting price: $2,000.
Tone: friendly and professional.
If asked about refunds, direct them to support@example.com.
```

After edits:

1. Click **Save**
2. Click **Train Chatbot**
3. Wait \~30–60 seconds

### Tab: Data

Review conversation history:

* visitor questions
* chatbot replies
* timestamps (and any available visitor context)

Use this to improve guidelines over time.

## Disable the chatbot

1. Click **Disable Chatbot** (top right).
2. The chatbot is removed from the live website.

Notes:

* Settings are preserved.
* Chat history is preserved.
* You can re-enable later.

## Best practices

* Start simple, then iterate.
* Review conversation history weekly and update guidelines.
* Add suggested questions based on what visitors ask most.

## Troubleshooting

### “Upgrade to Paid plan”

Your plan may not include chatbot access. Upgrade to a supported tier.

### Chatbot not appearing

* Confirm it’s enabled.
* Confirm the site is published.
* Clear cache / hard refresh and wait a few minutes after enabling.

### Responses are inaccurate

* Add more specific guidelines.
* Retrain after changes.
