Butternut AI provides a multi-layered support system designed to help you build, edit, and manage your website effectively. These tools are primarily accessed via the Website Editor Sidebar, located on the left side of your screen.

Browsing video and text tutorials

The platform offers both visual and written educational resources to guide you through the website-building process.

Video tutorials

Click the Tutorial icon (Play/Lesson icon) in the sidebar to open a panel of structured video guides.
  • Categories: Browse topics such as:
    • Getting Started
    • Adding Content
    • Design Customisation
    • Publishing your Website
  • Features: Videos include YouTube/Vimeo embeds with chapters, speed controls, and transcripts to help you find specific information quickly.

Text tutorials

If you prefer reading, a Text Tutorial Library is available with in-depth guides for SEO, self-serve help, and advanced editor features. You can access these through the Help sidebar or directly via the public route: /text-tutorials.

Interacting with the ChatAI Assistant

The ChatAI Assistant (Astronaut icon) acts as a context-aware co-pilot while you edit.

Context-aware help

ChatAI opens as a persistent floating window (typically bottom-right) so it can stay active while you move between pages. It is aware of your current page and sections, enabling more specific guidance.

Capabilities

  • Content generation: Ask it to write headlines, generate paragraphs, or suggest Call-to-Action (CTA) text.
  • Editing assistance: Improve existing text, fix grammar, and adjust tone (for example, more professional or more friendly).
  • Feature guidance: Ask “how do I…” questions to get step-by-step instructions for editor features.

Using live support chat

For complex technical issues or billing inquiries, Butternut integrates Crisp Chat for direct communication with the support team.

Access

Click the Help icon (Question Mark) in the sidebar to open the live chat window.

Support hours

The live team is typically available Monday–Friday, 9 AM–6 PM EST. If you message outside these hours, you can leave your query and receive a response the next business day.
